It’s been nearly five months since the Jets hired Adam Gase as the 18th head coach in franchise history and a lot has happened already, some of which is concerning.Gase has not coached a game yet nor has he conducted a full-squad training camp practice and there remain two critical things he’s lacking, both of which will need to come in short time: Wins and credibility.

Gase, of course, hasn’t had the opportunity to win a game yet. That won’t come until the Sept. 8 season opener against the Bills.He is, however, 1-0 in internal power struggles, having at least had some sleight of hand in general manager Mike Maccagnan’s ouster two weeks ago … whether he cops to it or not.

This is where credibility comes into play.Gase’s incredulous reactions to the rumors of a riftbetween him and Maccagnan would be comical if they weren’t so cunning.
