Storied Midtown restaurant Michael’s celebrated its 30th anniversary on Wednesday night.
We hear media execs, producers, fashionistas, and foodies mixed and mingled for the momentous occasion.
“The room was packed with old friends reconnecting and sharing their favorite Michael’s memories,” an insider told Page Six. “Guests indulged in ratatouille spring rolls, shrimp tempura, clams casino, mini Korean endive, dunk confit bao and sipped on wine from Michael’s Winery, The Malibu Vineyard.”
Among the notables were Joanna Coles, Jonathan Adler, Fern Mallis, Simon Doonan, Steve Kroft, Jay McInerney, and Michael Wolff.
A Page Six spy tells us that when the “Fire and Fury” author was asked how long he’s been coming to Michael’s, he replied, “25 years, but I took a five-year hiatus because I couldn’t get a free cookie place.”
He then added that he returned to the chef Michael McCarty’s spot because he “couldn’t find another lunch spot like it.”
We reported in 2014 that big names were spotted at the restaurant’s 25th-anniversary party including CBS boss Les Moonves, Al Roker and Deborah Roberts, fashionista Fern Mallis, Rikki Klieman, Jerry Della Femina, Bryant Gumbel, Jamie Niven, Amy Fine Collins, Jay McInerney and Anne Hearst.
