Sen. Kamala Harris, a Democratic presidential hopeful, released 15 years of her tax returns on Sunday, the latest candidate make their taxes public, according to a report.
Harris’ returns, covering the 15 years she has been in public office, shows that the California Democrat and her husband had a federal tax bill of $700,000 on a adjusted gross joint income of about $1.9 million last year, the Associated Press reported.
She reported making $157,352 from her congressional salary, and a net income of $320,125 from sales of her book.
Her husband, lawyer Doug Emhoff, reported about $1.5 million in earnings.
Over the past five years, the couple paid over $2.2 million in federal taxes.
Sen. Bernie Sanders said he would release his tax returns on Monday, and other Democratic candidates – including Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren – have already released their tax documents.
