There are a number of reasons why you might need to clear your Xbox One’s cache from time to time.
What’s the Xbox One’s cache? You may ask. Essentially it’s a block of storage on the console where it stores temporary data and files to improve game-play and keep things running smoothly. However, over time it can have the opposite effect and get clogged up with tons of excess clutter; this can cause crashing, freezing, slow game loads, connectivity problems and general lag issues.
That means that from time to time, or if you are experiencing one of the above problems, it’s a good idea to try clearing the cache first and see if that fixes things and boosts performance, or stops crashes from occurring.
If it doesn’t resolve your problems, it might be worth performing a hard reset, you can find out how to perform a hard reset on your Xbox One console here.
